End tables
Mission end table or lamp table
This is the round end table sitting next to the rocking chair shown in another part of the website. The finish on this oak piece requires a time-consuming four-part process. Because of the time and care required for this process it is no longer offered by Stickley. However, the results speak for themselves.
This table goes for between $1200-$1600.
Mission end table detail
This image shows the medullary rays of the quartersawn oak on the same end table when stained and finished properly. This is particularly evident with the morning sun glancing off the piece. Click on the image for a larger view.
Star cherry end table with wooden star inlays
This is one of my favorite end tables and can be seen in much greater detail on another page. This graceful end table was actually designed by my sister. The inlayed stars are made out of curly maple, sometimes called Tiger maple, and highly figured black walnut. There is one large star on the bottom shelf, four medium sized stars across the front folding leaf section, and four smaller stars inlayed in the four corners of the top. This table costs $2600.
Mission end table
This style of mission end table is finished with no stain and has noticeably darkened with age. As usual, I prefer not to stain cherry since it is photosensitive and will always darken with age.
Once again a pinned through-tenon is visible where the lower rail protrudes through the legs.
Another view of the same mission end table
This is a rather traditional Mission-style end table in highly figured black cherry. The smaller spindles add lightness to this piece.
This end table would be between $1100-$1300.
