Sarah's Mission Trestle Dining Table with Brass Bar Rail and handcut Leaf Inlays
This quartersawn oak custom dining table is 45" by 104" and is discussed further in Furniture Plans and Drawings. The trestle style and pedestal style legs give those seated at the dining table a great deal of legroom which a traditional four-legged dining table would not offer. For instance, picture your own experiences crowding around a four-legged dining table during the holidays. Those seated at the corners have almost no leg room. Additionally, notice that though massive, the feet are slightly arched to give the table a light feeling.
The long trestle which passes through all three legs is keyed for easy disassembly, and also to aid in minor adjustments through seasonal changes in humidity.

This dining table was made to be in this particular position in this particular room. The photographer is standing in a raised entryway. From this position, the first of the handcut brass leaf inlays can be seen, actually wrapped around the near side of the table.
Brass oak leaves inlayed into the top of the table.
There are seventeen individually handcut inlayed brass leaves receding across the dining table. They get gradually smaller in perspective as they recede and are meant to appear as if strewn across the surface of the table.
The finish on this dining table cannot be matched in production furniture. Though tough as nails and impervious to wine, alcohol, and water, it actually feels soft to the touch.
This type of custom dining table with this many inlays will range between $13,000 and $16,000.
Dining table and trestle bench
Here is a wooden bench at the end of the trestle table along with some natural hickory chairs.
This style of bench with this many inlays will range between $900-$1300.

Because the parts of each piece are individually handmade, similar looking parts may not be interchangeable. You will notice this, for instance, with the numbered drawers of a fine bureau or cabinet in a high-end store. Thus, every part is carefully numbered and directions for assembly and disassembly are provided whenever necessary.
Country style dining table and trestle bench
This country style dining table has traditional milk-painted legs and rails.
It is 104" by 44" and made of thick planks of birdseye and spalted pine. The ends of the top surface are finished with 'breadboards' and brass screws. The top has been varnished for durability.
